Recap: A11y Club Summit 2025

Lesedauer: < 1 Minute

The A11y Summit took place for the 11th time in Würzburg this year and is a conference for accessibility enthusiasts. The conference is a mix of scheduled talks, workshops, and a BarCamp-style format.

BarCamp means that in the morning, attendees can pitch talks and sessions, which are then scheduled throughout the day.

I also pitched a talk on Web Design for Dyslexia and there were many great sessions, Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend all of them. Luckily, most of the talks were recorded, and I plan to watch them, when they are uploaded in couple weeks. I will include the link in this post.

My Highlights

One talk I have attended, that was a highlight for me, was the talk from Caitlin de Rooij about “WCAG and Me: How accessibility guidelines support my ADHD brain”. I can really recommend to watch her talk online.

An other highlight was, as always, to meet so many amazing people from the accessibility bubble. The main reasons for me to travel to conferences is the exchange and conversations with likeminded people. Sharing knowledge, experiences, values and a good time.

This time, I also had so many interesting conversations and met people from whom I learned a lot and with whom I really felt connected.

A big thanks to Joschi and all the other organizers, volunteers and speakers for this amazing event. See you next time!
